In the menus, if I open the preferences window, I can see that handwriting recognition is set to en_( (The rest is cut off, but I'm assuming that is a version of English) and that the input method is set to MyScript Stylus. I am assuming that recognition should work, but I don't know what to do next.

Any ideas?

Thank you,

Bresee

Hi, Bresee

Thank you for your posting about handwriting recognition in Mac version.
You didn't mentioned about your SBS version, but I guess it's 9.x.

In 9.x, you can use hand writing recognition by following steps:
1. Write out word or phrase using "Intelli-pen".
2. Select word by clicking on it once with Intelli-pen. (Menu bar will automatically appear.)
3. To replace writing with text, choose the word from the menu.

If you want to use handwriting recognition in Japanese, change the handwriting setting to "ja_JP", F.Y.I.

Thank you, and yes, it is 9.1.

I will try the next time I am in the classroom. Just using the touchpad on the mac doesn't seem to work well (I can get the menu, but it's not selecting the whole word), so I will see how it goes when I am using the actual board.

Thanks for letting me know the procedure.

If you cannot select the whole word, there is another way to do the same thing:
1. Use "Select" (arrow icon), and select the whole area, including the word.
2. Then choose the text words from Menu.

***You need to connect StarBoard hardware to your PC/Mac to acctivate handwriting recognition feature.***

Hope it helps!!

Yes, it did. Thank you. I couldn't use the japanese, but I don't plan on using it in class anyhow.

Thanks for the help. I can't wait to use it in class now.
